If you often travel for work purposes in your own car, you can possibly claim a large tax deduction for costly expenses such as petrol, services, repairs, registration and insurance.
One of the most effective methods to use is the log book method. This method is normally the one that will get you the best tax deduction if you use your car often for work (over 5000kms in a year); however it is also the method that requires the most substantiation, which can sometimes put people off.
